Young males are driven from their prides when they grow large enough to compete with the dominant males (usually between the ages of 2 and 4). Adult males that are fortunate enough to achieve residency within a pride hold tenure for an average of two years, often leaving due to eviction by another coalition of males. In India, female and male lions live apart, joining only to mate. These teeth also allow more delicate procedures to occur; the stomach is the most accessible entry point to the highly nutritious organs inside. A Symbol of Power: Across numerous cultures and epochs, the lion, often referred to as the “King of the Jungle,” has been emblematic of strength, courage, and majesty. Their teeth, a quintessential component of their powerful image, have found their way into folklore, myths, and real-life narratives. How can we earn money and stay independent, you ask?
