I can’t say that I recommend this as a workday listen though – there are steamy situations throughout, lots of language, and, honestly, the story is so good that you might find it too distracting to work, lol. Also, since sports are so big here, there tends to be a lot of news coverage if players are arrested for abuse/violence or colleges prioritize sports over everything.

Becka enjoys writing swoon-worthy romances with lovable and relatable characters, loads of humor, and a healthy dose of drama on the way to a happily ever after. Growing up, Becka's ambition was to create a dream world for readers to slip into, a place to escape and fall in love, much like the ones she so enjoyed getting lost in herself. While she loves to include all the fun stuff like heat, humor, and alpha men who are secret teddy bears, her writing comes from a place of heavy emotions, and she often can’t resist letting those emotions seep into her pages. But I still had fun with this one and would say it’s worth the read especially if you love MMCs that are way head over feet for their FMCs! I offered to drive, but the glare he directed at my stomach told me that not only was that not happening, but that I’d probably not be driving myself anywhere for the next nine months.This book caught my attention when I heard that it revolved around a playboy, captain of a hockey team, and a sassy and fierce female lead who wasn’t easy for the taking. The one thing I didn’t like was that the timeline of the entire book was less than a year, so some of the “life events that happened” seemed a bit unrealistic, but I didn’t even care because all of the other parts were great. In the sizzling hockey romance that has taken TikTok by storm, the ultimate player turns romantic to charm the woman he is desperate to win over. There were portions of the ending that didn’t quite gel and felt to me they were there for plot purposes rather than being representative of, by then, well-established characters. While some of the things her senior boys say to her seemed wildly inappropriate, when she puts them in their place she does it with style and hard as concrete.
