We finally have a trailer for director Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania Ant-Mans third solo movie outing where we delve deep into the Quantum Realm. From the image provided above, we have official confirmation of MODOK’s MCU design. It does look to be replicated from the panels to the silver screen quite well. The iconic purple and gold color scheme and the enormous iconic face can be noticed upon first viewing by anyone. It's no secret that the focus for Ant-Man 3 has largely been on Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror as it builds up to the events of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, the time-traveling conqueror won't be the only foe to face the shrinking team as MODOK will also be making his MCU debut in the February 2023 release. If this were to be the case, MODOK could end up being the main villain of Quantumania while Kang functions more as an "in the shadows" threat. As the time-traveler will be the the next big bad for the Avengers to face in The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, this would ultimately make a lot of sense. Not too much of what to expect is given away by the trailer but comic book fans will know Kang the Conqueror is a relative of Victor von Doom, aka Doctor Doom from the Fantastic 4.Maybe as a post-credit scene? Kang the Conqueror was first introduced in the Disney+ Marvel series Loki and will also play a big part in the forthcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

This leaves the question of how MODOK can fit into this adventure, with regard to whether he will ally himself with Kang, Ant-Man, or his own third party. One theory suggests the oversized villain may be floating around the Quantum Realm on the conqueror's famous time chair, which could be what he sends the heroes to steal. While fans will no doubt be eager to see him on screen, the question remains as to what his purpose within the overall story of the movie will be. The plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania revolves around Lang's family finding themselves in the Quantum Realm and interacting with the inner space inhabitants. It's possible that the film will re-imagine the character as being a robotic program that serves the people of the Quantum Realm, or possibly Kang himself. Knowing that Kang has sinister motives for the heroes, MODOK will probably be more than willing to complete his mission of killing, or at least assist in doing so. So, a collection of the best Funko Pops! will always eventually go out of date. This is the case for our collection of the greatest ones. Even though they're talking about it, it's probably no surprise to learn there's no confirmed release date yet for Ant-Man 4. Of course, there will be a bunch of new Marvel Ant-Man and Wasp Funko Pops released but until they are confirmed by Funko it’s just speculation on my part. But it is safe to say we will get all new versions of Ant-Man and the Wasp in Funko Pop form. There will be at least one new Kang the Conqueror Funko Pop as well as an initial wave. But we won’t see too many Pops until we get more trailers and much closer to the release of the movie so as not to give away any spoilers.

Now, one question that does remain after taking a closer look at the MCU’s interpretation is where the character of MODOK fits in the overarching narrative of Ant-Man 3? Thus far, no officially released concept art, trailers, or marketing materials have shown the villain. The new Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania trailer has dropped and that means we have new Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania Funko Pops on the way. Just as had been described by those who saw D23's Ant-Man 3 trailer, the MCU's MODOK has some major changes from the comics. Perhaps the biggest comes from his golden faceplate, which could indicate he will be completely mechanical or maybe it's just a mask designed to conceal the man underneath until release. In a recent interview, Majors revealed that he did not officially sign on to play Kang in future MCU projects until he had completed filming his scenes for Loki. "It was the character and dimensions of Kang, and the potential that it had," Majors said. "I thought, I’ll take a chance on that ." There's plenty of spaces in Phase 6 where it could technically fit, but we have a feeling we'll have to wait until The Multiverse Saga wraps up to see a fourth Ant-Man movie.
