About this deal

The recommended wattage for the 0.8ohm coil is between 15W - 18W. As highlighted before, I really do prefer a warmer vape and this really did deliver. Starting at the lower end of 15W with the same Watermelon Strawberry Bubblegum nic salts by The Salt Stuff, the flavour was much more there than on the 1.2ohm coil, with signs of improvement. At 18W I found the flavours became merged together and created a much warmer vape, especially when compared to the other coil Innokin provide straight out the box. Surprisingly, it was right in the middle around 17W that I found the sweet spot on the 0.8ohm coil. At this setting with the airflow at half, I got a really pleasant MTL vape with the full flavour profile of The Salt Stuff flavours merging really well together. Final Thoughts

Created as the perfect counterpart for the Z50 vape mod, the Zlide 2ml tank can be used for MTL (Mouth To Lung) vaping or DTL (Direct To Lung) vaping. The 0.8 Ohm and 1.2 Ohm Zenith coils included will produce a small amount of vapour, for an MTL inhale that feels similar to a cigarette. We recommend a 50/50 or high PG e-liquid be used with them. Available separately is a 0.3 Ohm coil, which produces much more vapour and can be used up to 40W, it works best with a 70% VG e-liquid for DTL vaping. With an excellent MTL tank thanks to the Zlide, the full kit is perfect for those on their first steps into the vaping world and for those who prefer a MTL vape and want a device to last throughout the day. I began testing the coils of the Zlide tank with the pre-installed 1.2ohm coil. With this being a MTL kit, I used Watermelon Strawberry Bubblegum nic salts by The Salt Stuff for both coils. The 1.2ohm coil has a recommended wattage range of 10W - 14W.

Review

Starting the test at the lower end of the scale around 10W, the flavour was rather muted with a traditional Mouth To Lung (MTL) vape all round. It wasn't until the top end of the recommended at 14W that the flavour started to come through to my liking. Although saying this, the flavour was rather cool and not as warm as I would have liked. This would work perfectly for those who prefer a cooler vape, in particular menthol or fruit flavours. The watermelon and bubblegum really came through but the Strawberry was sort of lost. The tank is also designed to allow for easy coil changes, even when the tank is full, which means you won’t waste any e-liquid. WHO IS THE INNOKIN COOLFIRE Z50 KIT FOR? For it's rather small size at 69.5mm x 33mm x 26mm, the Coolfire Z50 device is rather heavy with it's large 2100mAh inbuilt battery which is made to last. It also feels very solid which I imagine would withstand rough handling and a few drops here and there, although I didn't particularly test this. As highlighted, the Coolfire Z50 Kit comes with the Zlide MTL tank which takes the same coils as the Zenith tank, however the Zlide definitely seems a lot less chunky giving it a nicer looking design throughout.

My love for Innokin has always remained throughout my own personal vaping journey although this isn't particularity the kit for me as I've expanded further into the love of Direct To Lung (DTL) devices and sub-ohm kits in general. Review Scores The Innokin Coolfire Z50 Zlide kit combines the Z50 mod and the Zlide tank for an intuitive and easy-to-use kit suitable for both Mouth-to-Lung and restricted Direct-Lung vaping. One thing that is different to other tanks on the market is the childproof protection Innokin have implemented on the Zlide. The top filling port can not be simply accessed and requires the drip tip to be removed beforehand, see below. The tank itself comes apart very easily and everything appears as well built as the device. This makes changing the coil easy too and with smooth strong feeling threads there is little chance of threading the tank.

Quality wise, the Coolfire Z50 continues the trend from Innokin, the first thing you notice besides the full itinerary of spare parts is the excellent build quality. The device itself is made from a sturdy zinc alloy with curved sides creating a comfortable ergonomic feel. Without fancy colour schemes, the Coolfire Z50 has a grown up feel about it and hasn't massively changed look wise since their amazing and humble beginnings. Innokin have always seemed to market their devices at the beginner vaper and the Coolfire Z50 Kit is no exception as the Zlide tank is obviously created for the MTL vape audience. The finish and design of the tank fit seamlessly with the device and creates a rather appealing yet bulky MTL device. On the side of the device you'll find the Micro-USB port for both charging and firmware upgrades. It is a little disappointing to not see a Type-C port like other leading brands but it isn't a complete game changer for all. Overall it's nice to see that the quality and design on the Coolfire Z50 follows suit with the predecessors from Innokin, if not being even better. That all depends on the coil you are using. Higher resistance Z (Zenith) coils, such as the 1.6 Ω Z coil, are suitable for e-liquids with a VG:PG ratio of around 50:50. Lower resistances Z coils, such as the 0.48 Ω Z 3d Mesh coils, work well with high VG e-liquids, such as those with a VG:PG ratio of around 70:30 or 80:20. SPECS Overall Innokin have managed to carry on their excellent build quality in their Coolfire range to the Coolfire Z50 kit. The device is very ergonomic creating a nice feel all round, it's a bit of a shame they haven't utilised Type-C charging capabilities when their competitors seem to be taking this route but it doesn't make the kit fall behind.
